Murphy School of Dance, established in 1990, has long earned the reputation of offering professional, quality instruction in a positive, nurturing environment. Our school has grown and developed into one of the premier dance education programs in Western North Carolina, providing a well-rounded dance experience for our students with an emphasis on solid technique, performance experiences and an appreciation for the arts.

MSOD offers classes in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical ,Tumbling, and our unique Dance With Disabilities Program. Additional classes are available as interest dictates in a variety of other dance genres including Clogging, Modern, Creative Movement, Praise and Worship Dance, Baton Twirling, and adult classes. Classes are offered for students of all ages; however, classes are formed only when a minimum of eight students are enrolled. Classes are offered Monday through Saturday as indicated by parent scheduling interest and are divided by age and ability level. A brief summer session is planned each summer, and we are pleased to provide numerous master classes and guest instructors throughout the school year session.
